Terms and Conditions – IRCTC Lakshadweep E-Ticketing
By booking any ship journey through IRCTC Lakshadweep Portal (lakshadweep.irctc.co.in), the user agrees to be bound by the Terms & Conditions of Union Territory of Lakshadweep Administration (UTLA), in addition to IRCTC's Terms of Service.
User Registration
Each user must register on the IRCTC Lakshadweep E-Ticketing portal using a valid Aadhaar number (last 4 digits) and OTP-verified mobile number.
Only one account per Aadhaar number is permitted. Multiple registrations under the same Aadhaar are not allowed.
Users may link a maximum of 10 family members/close relatives to their account, as defined in registration rules.
Tickets booked are strictly non-transferable. The user cannot resell or hand over tickets/boarding passes to third parties.
Users are not permitted to act as booking agents or run any commercial ticketing activity/agency using the system.
Accounts found misusing the system (including bulk bookings, fraudulent cancellations, or resale of tickets) may be suspended or permanently terminated by UTLA/IRCTC without prior notice.
The user is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials. IRCTC/UTLA will not be liable for unauthorized use of the account.
Booking & Confirmation
All bookings are subject to seat availability and must be accompanied by full payment at the time of reservation.
A maximum of 5 passengers per ticket can be booked, only from the registered master passenger list linked to the permit on the user account.
Web Check-in is mandatory for all passengers and must be completed up to 4 hours before departure from Kochi and up to 3 hours before departure from the Islands. Boarding passes can be generated online.
Tickets are non-transferable and valid only for the passenger(s) whose details are entered at the time of booking.
Islanders must provide Aadhaar and either of Resident Id, Government Office ID or Student ID details as per the category at the time of registration. Permit holders (tourists . workers. other tourists) must provide a valid Tourist Permit Number at booking and check-in.
Travel Requirement
At the time of travel, passengers must carry a valid government-issued photo ID matching the booking details. Failure to do so may result in denial of boarding without refund.
For infants who do not possess an Aadhaar Card at the time of booking and during travel for verification purposes, the accompanying adult passenger must carry a valid Birth Certificate of the infant during travel for verification purposes.
Risk & Liability
Sea voyages are subject to weather, operational conditions, and maritime safety protocols.
IRCTC/UTLA shall not be liable for any injury, death, loss, delay, or inconvenience caused during the journey.
Passengers are expected to comply with ship safety instructions, boarding timelines, and crew directions at all times.
Cancellations & Refund Policy
Cancellation Charges for Confirmed Tickets
No refund on infant cancellation
After Web Check-in, cancellation is allowed with charges applicable as per rules above.
No refund for NO SHOW confirmed passengers.
Cancellation of Waitlisted Tickets
Waitlisted tickets cancelled – ₹5 per ticket (service charge).
Unconfirmed tickets (waitlisted) not cancelled till the scheduled departure of ship . voyage will be refunded automatically, subject to a deduction of ₹5.- per ticket as processing charges.
Special Cases
Voyage Cancelled by UTLA: Full refund to all passengers.
Voyage Rescheduled: Passenger may either opt for full refund or accept the rescheduled voyage.
If no action is taken by the user regarding reschedule of voyage, it will be treated as a 'No Show', and no refund will be granted in such cases
Refunds will be processed back to the original payment mode within 5–7 business days.
Health & Eligibility
Passengers must ensure they are medically and physically fit for sea travel.
Pregnant women, persons with serious illnesses, or those with conditions aggravated by sea travel must seek medical clearance.
Children and infants will be accommodated only within the defined safety capacity of each vessel (as per life-jacket and safety regulations).
Passengers with disabilities (40% or more) must carry valid PWD ID for reserved seats.
Baggage Rules
Self-declaration of luggage is mandatory during web check-in.
MV Kavaratti, MV Corals, MV Lagoons
45 kg per passenger
MV Arabian Sea, MV Lakshadweep Sea
35 kg per passenger
High Speed Crafts (HSCs)
15 kg per passenger
Excess baggage is not allowed as per UTLA rules.
Itinerary & Schedule Changes
UTLA reserves the right to alter ship schedules, routes, or cancel voyages due to weather, safety, or operational reasons.
Such changes may be made without prior notice and are binding on all passengers.

Ticketless travel
Fine will be levied at 10 times the highest First Class fare of that voyage
Jurisdiction
All disputes relating to bookings, cancellations, or travel shall be governed as per applicable laws.
